Shehzad Choudry, MD
Dr. Shehzad Choudry was born in Fairfax, Virginia and spent his formative years in South Carolina. After completing his undergraduate education at Wofford College, he earned his doctorate of medicine at the University of South Carolina. During medical school, Dr. Choudry developed an interest in the study of neurology and pain management. Dr. Choudry completed his neurology residency at Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He went on to complete his fellowship in Pain Management at Duke University. At Duke, Dr. Choudry became well versed in the advanced treatment of chronic pain. During fellowship, he was awarded the Phizer award for excellence in pain management. In 2005, Dr. Choudry joined Carolina Pain Consultants. His current position has facilitated his passion for teaching. Dr. Choudry often gives lectures to local and national pain physicians on the use of cutting edge technology to alleviate pain. He is involved with the American Academy of Neurology , the American Academy of Pain Medicine and, the North American Spine Society.Dr. Choudry treats various pain issues but has a specific interest in spine pain, peripheral nerve dysfunction and complex regional pain syndrome. When he is not working, Dr. Choudry enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wonderful wife and three, young children.
